International Women’s Day (IWD) is more than just a date on the calendar—it’s a moment of reflection, recognition, and commitment to change. Traditionally, the tech industry has been male-dominated, and while progress is being made, there’s still a long road ahead. At Qsic, we’re taking deliberate steps to ensure that as we scale, we bring more women into the business, support their growth, and create an inclusive environment where they can thrive.
We know that fostering diversity isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a necessity for innovation. Different perspectives drive better ideas, and better ideas drive success. While we acknowledge the progress the industry has made, we also recognize that there’s still a great deal of work to be done. Our goal is to help women in our organization feel heard, welcomed, and empowered to bring their best selves to work every day. As we continue to grow, we are committed to growing with diverse voices at the forefront.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2025, Accelerate Action, resonates deeply with us. It’s not enough to acknowledge challenges—we must take bold and measurable steps to drive real change. At Qsic, we’re dedicated to actively accelerating action by fostering a culture of inclusion, championing women’s voices, and continuously working to break down systemic barriers.
Voices from Qsic: As a woman in tech, what does International Women’s Day mean to you?

To truly understand the impact and importance of IWD, we asked some of the women on our team to share their thoughts:
Jenn Saavedra
“I consider IWD a checkpoint, regardless of what industry I’m working in. A checkpoint to remember that in all industries, there are still salary gaps, unconscious bias (and very conscious ones, too), and a lack of empathy—not only against women. It’s definitely not a celebration, but rather a call to assess where we are and determine ‘the talk we need to walk’ for a safe and inclusive work environment for everyone. This year, it’s also a moment to be grateful for being part of a company that leads with respect and kindness.”
Masha Gussak
“IWD often feels like corporate jargon, something that looks good on the surface but doesn’t always drive real change. What excites me more is seeing real action, like the rise of Women in Tech groups where women support each other in meaningful ways. For me, progress isn’t about one day of recognition; it’s about ongoing efforts to create genuine opportunities and structural change in the industry.”
Kimberley Davis
“As a woman in tech, it’s not about being a woman—it’s about being treated equally. The gender pay gap and systemic issues won’t change overnight, but progress starts with awareness. One simple step men can take is to stop asking, ‘Why don’t men get an International Men’s Day?’—because that question itself is a reminder of why we advocate, why we fight to be heard, and why having a voice matters. At Qsic, I’m grateful that my voice isn’t just heard—it has impact.”
Nikki Wishart
“As a woman in music curation within a tech-driven company, International Women’s Day is more than just a day of recognition—it’s a call to action. The need to create space for diverse voices isn’t limited to tech; it’s essential in every industry. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but by moving forward with intention, commitment, and accountability, we can drive real progress. True equality requires more than just conversation; it demands continuous effort to amplify underrepresented voices, break down systemic barriers, and create meaningful, lasting opportunities for everyone.”
Madhuri Shrestha
“International Women's Day is a day of celebration and appreciation of women in every walk of life. As a woman in STEM, I have always viewed this day akin to being transported to a room of mirrors, each reflecting a different possibility of what we can achieve. Representation matters as you cannot aspire what you have not known. This day is a great opportunity to show every woman the endless dreams they can choose to dream and achieve despite all of the challenges that lay ahead.I love being a woman and the community we have been able to foster fuels and drives me. I dream of a day when this will become a norm and we would not need to advocate relentlessly for each other to fight the bias and barriers. But until then, International Women's Day has been helping ignite the sparkle of dreams and ambition in the eyes of women. Aspire to inspire, always”.
Lisa Nixon
“As a woman in tech, International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration—it’s a call to action. It’s about recognizing the women who have paved the way, the ones breaking barriers today, and those who will shape the future of innovation.
Tech thrives on fresh ideas, bold leadership, and diverse perspectives. But true progress happens when we move beyond recognition and into real change”.
